Archdale guy escaped from a third-floor apartment, but not by jumping

Wicked Local Roslindale reports the stabbing suspect police thought they had cornered in an Archdale apartment yesterday shimmied down a garden hose.

How can one shimmy down a hose? Maybe a downspout? Or a lattice? But a garden hose?

You could also slide down while slowing your descent if it was grippy enough and secure at the top.

The cheap Job Lot garden hose I have has a tensile strength of 3.46 MPa (500 PSI), which should be enough to hold the weight of an average man.

Seems strange for someone to have a garden hose on the third floor.
