The T had a concrete reason for commuter-rail delays through Chelsea today

A roving UHub photographer got front-row seats to watch a crew drag a cement truck off the commuter-rail tracks in Chelsea it had rolled on early this afternoon.

Silver Line Gateway
The cement truck was probably for the Silver Line Gateway project. They've been building a retaining wall there for several weeks now between Washington Ave and Broadway for the project (part of it will be a shared use path).
Here's what it looked like a few weeks ago, as seen from the broadway bridge
Silver Line Chelsea
I never actually realized this was happening until the other day. I have no stake in the game (don't live near there), but holy hell is that great news that SL Chelsea is actually happening. I really had thought it was one of those crazy pitches.
Assuming you're the same cybah, thanks so much for posting all the photos on AB. I'm looking forward to seeing it if/when it's completed!
Cement
I generally love you guys and all, but cement is the powder that comes in bags. Concrete is what you get when you mix cement with something.
Other pet peeves (of mine) in the construction industry:
joistseses
li-bary
mason-ary
LEEDs
ETA: fair enough - you two used it in conjunction with Truck, so that's a pass. Mea Culpa for the short temper today. But calling something cement when it's already been mixed hits one of those buttons. A cement truck is just a large cement mixer.
I was wondering how this
I was wondering how this alert I received was possible. Now I know:
Newburyport/Rockport Trains may experience delays of 10-20 min between Chelsea & Newburyport or Rockport due to an auto impeding the tracks.
