Critical donut shortage in Watertown to be eased by state-of-the-arts Dunk's
By adamg on Mon, 03/06/2017 - 4:14pm
Watertown News reports the city's newest Dunkin' Donuts will soon open at 640 Arsenal St., great news for people currently forced to travel all the way across the Charles River to get to the Dunkin' Donuts at Market and North Beacon in Brighton.
The next-gen Double-D's will feature an area where the franchisee promised people could " 'plug in' and do some work."

Will it have a bakespace
?
This is the old Aegean Space
... and it's huge. However, there is not nearly enough parking, and the shared driveway is basically impossible to get into/out of at 8:15 am (I avoid that intersection like the plague during the AM rush).
They're not using the whole
They're not using the whole Aegean space, per link. Looking for another tenant for the rest.
There's one closer than that
The one on Mt. Auburn Street is a stone's throw.
Closer than that
There's one in the Arsenal Mall across the street.
Not for long
That one is closing as the Arsenal Mall converts to the Arsenal "Project"
Arsenal Yards
will be the name post-renovation. Watertown has the planning dox on their city site.
I live in Watertown
I think this will be the sixth DD that's within a roughly 15-30 minute walk from me. Sigh. If it were a state-of-the-art Honey Dew opening, I'd be the happiest person on the planet.
I wonder if
the design will be like the one on Washington St. in DTX. It's a small space, but looks pretty cool inside and would translate well to a larger space like this.
Doesn't anyone own a thermos
Doesn't anyone own a thermos anymore?
The Dunkies crisis in the West Fens/Audubon Circle
The DD's at the old Tiger Mart at Boylston and Park Drive: GONE.
The DD's on Beacon Street: Marginal and closed today cuz why?
Where are we to go for DD's in the West Fens/Audubon Circle?
OK. I'll just Japonaise.

p.s. I'm told there's supposed to be some new donut place on Boylston, but haven't found it yet.
