You snooze, you lose - the loaded gun on the dashboard
Boston Police report officers responding to a report of a car break-in around 4:50 a.m. at Abbotsford and Harold streets on Friday found a car with the passenger-side door ajar and a guy asleep in the driver's seat:
Next to the male, on top of the center console, officers observed a black firearm resting in such a position that would suggest the male had placed it down with his right hand. One officer reached inside the vehicle to secure the firearm when the male simultaneously woke up. The officer shouted, “Don’t move!” as the male startled and reached for the firearm. The officer was able to move quickly to secure the loaded Sig Sauer P250 firearm before the suspect could get a firm grip on it.
Alex Cherizard, 34, of Charlestown, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device and receiving stolen property, police say. He was also charged with being an armed career criminal, which could mean longer sentences should he be convicted of the other charges.
Innocent, etc.

Buh bye!
And thank you again BPD.
Yeah. Other PD's would have wasted the guy.
"he reached for the weapon" is often used as license for the officer to shoot the suspect. Our department is trained right.
So, was the car he fell
So, was the car he fell asleep in the one he broke into?
I think so
The BPD account doesn't explicitly say so, but he was charged with receiving stolen property, which is the charge you get if cops find you in a stolen car they didn't actually see you steal.
Or it could be...
Or it could be the ILLEGAL firearm, as it may have been reported stolen as well. Remember, this career criminal DOES NOT have a firearms license.
Pokemon Go, Expert Level
Officer captured a sleeping Cherizard.
BPD is arresting Pokémon now?!
