Chelsea flooded, too
By adamg on Fri, 01/05/2018 - 1:28pm
Chelsea firefighter Jonathan Morel was photographed yesterday about to rescue a motorist on Eastern Avenue who'd gotten trapped by a slushy flood from the nearby Chelsea Creek. About a dozen city blocks turned into slush rivers at the height of the storm and firefighters rescued several dozen people from their cars.
Ed. note: Nothing's on fire in the background; those are lights at a parking lot.

Is that photo even real?
Kind of looks like one of those architects renderings, with random people and vehicles just plopped onto a background.
RIGHT?
looks photo-shopped. If its real the photog should get some kind of composition award. Crazy....
It's real and it's spectacular
I got the photo from a reputable source (I know, you'll have to trust me on this), one who knew who the firefighter in question is.
And yes, the composition is something. So are the colors, which might be due to the odd lighting during a storm, the cold, or both (I mean, it sure looks like something's on fire back there)
I think
it's the blue lights from a police car throwing that creepy glow over it.
Notice how it's always the expensive cars that get stuck in floods. "I'm rich so the laws of physics don't apply to me."
Not always
The guy who was carried out of Neponset Circle was driving some econobox (an older Hyundai Accent, maybe?).
Yes
I will vouch that I know who John Morel is also :)

looks like a crop duster sprayed a radioactive isotope all over the place, then the flood came, then the nukes, and then aliens.

Looks more like a cooled lava flow

Background looks like Mordor
Just sayin.

Did they buy a tub?

I've seen this floating around and can confirm the scene did in fact happen... I am looking at this and I see HDR in a low light setting in the works. They took multiple photographs in multiple exposures and then blended them together. HDR works really weird when something is shiny and there were lots of shiney objects in this photograph... its one of the reasons why I avoid taking HDR shots involving cars. Although in this case I can see why they would do it, otherwise the image would not pop, that street has weird lighting.
Take your editor's note and stuff it, Gaffin.
