Stabbing suspect

Boston Police is seeking help to find two suspects for a stabbing at the Nubian Square Walgreens, 2275 Washington St. The victim survived.

If they look familiar, contact detectives at 617-343-4275 or the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or by texting TIP to CRIME (27463).

The Zoning Board today rejected the first of two two marijuana markets proposed for Nubian Square, at 195 Dudley St. after hearing from residents worried about the potential impacts on traffic and parking, all the school kids who traverse Nubian Square and addicts of harder drugs coming from nearby Mass and Cass. Live Boston reports a man was stabbed in the chest on Washington Street near Castillo Wine and Spirits, into which he crawled for help, around 10 p.m. on Friday. Because of the severity of his injuries, the homicide unit was called in.

Two developers and the owner of an existing Nubian Square business this week filed detailed plans with the BPDA for a complex on what is now a parking lot and vacant land along Washington Street between Palmer and Eustis streets for what they say help revive Nubian Square as a cultural and dining destination and begin turning it into a new life-sciences center, in buildings designed to harken back to the Nubian societies along the Nile. Acting Mayor Kim Janey announced today that, yes, that free Rte. 28 service she prematurely announced in May is really happening this time. Starts Aug. 29 and runs for three months as a pilot on the entire route, from Mattapan Square to Ruggles via Nubian Square. Read more.

Wanted man and type of SUV he carjacked

Boston Police have released images of the man they say carjacked an Acura SUV outside the Walgreens at 2275 Washington St. around 2:45 p.m. on July 4. Read more.

A man was shot in the chest twice shortly before 11:20 p.m. at 38 Warren St., at Zeigler Street - a couple blocks away from where another man was shot repeatedly in a parking lot off Harrison Avenue early this morning. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries.

The folks at the Boston City Archives found an example of storrowing roughly 45 years before Storrow Drive was built: A cart driver who storrowed on trolley wires under the Washington Street el at Guild Street in Roxbury at 11:45 a.m. on May 12, 1906.

The owner of a pair of small storefronts on Dudley Street, next to Hibernian Hall on Dudley Street has filed plans to replace the one-story structures with a five-story building with 28 residential units. Read more.

A Nubian Square business and developer told the BPDA this week they will soon file detailed plans for a seven-story building between Washington Street and Harrison Avenue that will include a food hall for local chefs, a market place for local artists and artisans, residential units for artists and space for life-sciences R&D. The Massachusetts Court of Appeals today upheld a six-month jail sentence for Jennifer Garvey, convicted on two counts of assault and battery for pepper-spraying a woman in the eyes at close range and beating her with a baton after the woman tried to comfort another woman who'd been reported as drunk on a bus at the then Dudley T stop in 2014. A Roxbury man who was charged with stabbing somebody at the Nubian Square bus station around 2 p.m. on Wednesday was arrested there again last night after he allegedly lunged at another man with a knife for eying his woman, only his woman tried to stop him and he wound up stabbing her instead, Transit Police say. Update: Suspect arrested.

Around 10 p.m. She was taken to a local hospital with an injury not considered life threatening. A folding knife possibly used in the attack was found at the station.
