Board rejects Nubian Square cannabis shop over resident complaints about traffic, kids, harder drugs
The Zoning Board today rejected the first of two two marijuana markets proposed for Nubian Square, at 195 Dudley St. after hearing from residents worried about the potential impacts on traffic and parking, all the school kids who traverse Nubian Square and addicts of harder drugs coming from nearby Mass and Cass. Live Boston reports a man was stabbed in the chest on Washington Street near Castillo Wine and Spirits, into which he crawled for help, around 10 p.m. on Friday. Because of the severity of his injuries, the homicide unit was called in.

The Massachusetts Court of Appeals today upheld a six-month jail sentence for Jennifer Garvey, convicted on two counts of assault and battery for pepper-spraying a woman in the eyes at close range and beating her with a baton after the woman tried to comfort another woman who'd been reported as drunk on a bus at the then Dudley T stop in 2014.
