Caught in Southie reports state Sen. Nick Collins is vowing to fight a proposal by the MBTA to end 11 service at Broadway, which would force people who now use it to get to Tufts Medical Center and nearby areas to take a bus and two subway lines to get to work, and to double the length of the 7 route.
"Just your ordinary AM line for the 7, " RDavejshea reports this morning from South Boston, wondering if some of that sweet free-fare action might alleviate the sidewalk congestion caused by all the people trying to use the T.

The MBTA tonight announced it's adding additional morning service on the Blue Line and more service throughout the day on the Green Line's E branch and the 7 bus from South Boston, following complaints today that service reductions went too far and led to riders being forced to crowd together at a time when that's the last thing they should be doing. Our system is failing us daily. 6pm on a Tues; dozens of people wait in the rain as two full 7 buses pass them by. This doesn’t include dozens of people waiting at Melcher St and the BCEC outbound stops.
