Mary Ellen spotted this frog just hanging out in Cow Island Pond, the part of the Charles River along Rivermoor Street in West Roxbury, where there's a bit more water than in the largely dry stretch just downstream along Millennium Park.

People weren't the only ones taking advantage of today's nice weather. Mary Ellen watched a great blue heron gulp down some frog legs - and the rest of the frog - at Millennium Park in West Roxbury.

Okay, so does anyone know where(or if) I can buy a formalin (formaldehyde) solution locally? I'm not a funeral director, scientist, or student, I'm just interested in preserving a pet frog who died of old age.
