The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to grant a packie license to Kelly Walsh so she can open Russ and Mimi's at 16 Birch St. in Roslindale Square.

CaptainRedblood used the Windows program for an homage to Birch Street Bistro, a now closed boite on, yes, Birch Street in Roslindale Square (and as you can see, it was across the street from a mural that is an homage to the street's name).

Solera on Birch Street in Roslindale Square announced today it's closing forever on Sept. 30. The news comes just a few days after Birch Street Bistro also announced it's closing.

The mayor's office announced today that Birch Street, a tiny, narrow street that lets motorists circle from Belgrade Avenue back to Belgrade Avenue, will be shut permanently by next summer to create a pedestrian plaza. Read more.

Birch Street, which lets motorists endlessly drive around the Roslindale Square building where the brewery is going in, will be blocked to cars for several days, starting Tuesday, as Roslindale Village Main Street tests out various configurations for a more permanent effort to create a pedestrian plaza there.

Roslindale Village Main Street reports a design firm has begun work on plans to change Birch Street between Corinth Street and Belgrade Avenue into "a permanent, fully landscaped, useable, and pedestrianized community space." Read more.

Adam Shutes of Roslindale reports he's bought the Boston Cheese Cellar and hopes to re-open the shop next to the wine shop on Birch Street in May.

The shop will remain as Boston Cheese Cellar, and remain as a locally-owned and operated cheese shop.

We aim to re-open in May, and are looking forward to continuing the good work that has gone before us, and to make Boston Cheese Cellar the destination for sampling, purchasing and learning about amazing global & local cheeses and specialty foods.

I miss Menino. He kept the streets clean in Roslindale Village.

One surmises that this concerned citizen hasn't met the other concerned citizen who complained how filthy Adams Park was in the waning days of the Menino regime.
