Boston Police detectives keeping tabs on prostitution at Mass and Cass by browsing online sex-for-hire ads spotted a woman they knew as "a victim of exploitation and violent assaults" arranged a "date" with her trafficker at the Holiday Inn Express on Boston Street and then arrested him when both people drove up Monday night, police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report. Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say stabbed a clerk in the stomach at O'Brien's Market and Deli, 1660 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester, around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday. Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board agreed today to let the family of convicted pizza guy Stavros Papantoniadis keep food-serving licenses for his Stash's in Dorchester and Bel Ave Pizza in Roslindale now that they've written him out of the businesses and said they are planning to sell off both locations to other operators. Lawyers for the Papantoniadis family, which owns Stash's in Dorchester and Bel Ave Pizza in Roslindale today asked the Boston Licensing Board to let it keep the food-serving licenses for the two places now that Stavros Papantoniadis is serving an 8 1/2-year federal sentence for beating, threatening, berating and underpaying his immigrant workers. A federal magistrate judge agreed last month that Peter McCarthy of Dorchester acted completely reprehensibly in demanding sex and nude photos from women who moved into one of his "sober houses" to try to get clean, but not to the extent of the $3.8 million in penalties a jury had awarded earlier in the year to several of the women, and one man, as damages for violating the federal Fair Housing Act. Transit Police report they are looking for a guy they say not only harassed a woman on an inbound Red Line train between Quincy Center and JFK/UMass, he punched her in the nose hard enough to start it bleeding, around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday. Read more.

A developer that won BPDA approval last year for the broad outlines of a large, nearly 9-acre, multi-building redevelopment along Morrissey Boulevard, from the Star Market to the former home of Channel 56 has brought on a new partner and plans to soon file detailed pans for the first phase of the project: Two buildings with some 750 residential units, ground-floor retail space and underground parking. Fire at 35 Freeport Way

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 35 Freeport Way in Dorchester for a fire in a metal-clad building around 11 p.m. on Sunday. The department reports one person inside was transported to the hospital with injuries.

A Suffolk Superior Court jury yesterday convicted Ramon Rodriguez-Delgado, 48, for stabbing Marcelino Perez, 77, to death in 2018 in the Franklin Hill development in Dorchester, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

WFXT reports dogs attacked a home health aid on Brunswick Street in Dorchester yesterday, sending her to the hospital with serious leg injuries.

Last month, a Roxbury woman died after one of her four dogs attacked her.

A federal judge yesterday sentenced Vincent Lambert, 41, to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to three counts related to the meth he sold a buyer working with the feds on either side of the Charles, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports. Read more.

A man accused by the feds of trying to assemble a collection of explosives in his Dorchester home pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition for his arrest by federal agents at the Ruggles T stop on Thanksgiving, 2020. Read more.

Update: The two men arrested on gun charges after the murder are now charged with the murder.

A man was fatally shot in the head around 10:25 p.m. on Monday at 114 Devon St. in Dorchester, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Read more.
