On Southern Avenue at Millet Street, around 11 a.m., Jay T. Kenney reports. The victim was found in the basement of a house a couple blocks away on Mallard Avenue.
The Boston Fire Department reports a driver managed to escape without injury after he drove into a utility pole at New England and Southern avenues in Dorchester, bringing down a transformer and electric wires onto his car and a nearby fence, all of which then burst into flames around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday. UPDATE: Boston Police report the victim, a man in his 20s, died.
Jeff Durham reports somebody was shot around 9:15 p.m. at Southern Avenue and Darlington Street and that the person was taken away in bad shape. This makes the third shooting in the area since Friday.
Around 10:20 p.m. at Southern Avenue and Hopestill Street near Codman Square.
UPDATE: The Globe identifies the victim as Eric Durham, known to his friends as Weez.
A man was shot in the chest around 8:25 p.m. outside 120 Southern Ave. Boston Police report the man, in his 20s, was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
