A man was shot repeatedly on Erie Street near Merrill Street around 10:30 p.m. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries.

Victim identified as Curtis Ashford, Jr., 15, of Dorchester.
Boston Police report a teen was shot outside 28 Ellington St. around 7:25 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Three men face a total of 36 drug and gun charges related to alleged Mass and Cass drug dealing this year following their indictment by a Suffolk County grand jury last week, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, which add it now has warrants for police to arrest 40 more people for dealing drugs along Methadone Mile. A man driving on Ellington Street near Blue Hill Avenue was shot and then crashed into a wall at 632 Blue Hill Ave. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries.
Shell casings were recovered on Ellington Street.
Boston Police report that officers patrolling the area where two teens were shot stopped a car that had been reported stolen, arrested the driver for the loaded gun they say was on the front seat, then arrested two more people they say tried to keep them from arresting the guy. Read more.
Boston firefighters responded around 11:20 p.m. for what turned into a two-alarm fire in a three decker at 107 Ellington St. that caused an estimated $250,000 in damage, the Boston Fire Department reports.
The fire, which started on a rear porch, displaced ten residents, the department says, adding fire investigators are looking for the cause.

When Joseph Morrison drove into the back of an SUV stopped on Ellington Street at Blue Hill Avenue around 8:30 this morning, he tried to flee by backing up - only to plow into a minivan. Then, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office charges, he put his Altima back in drive and hit the SUV driver, who'd gotten out to try to stop him, knocking her to the ground and driving over her foot.
