One man was stabbed in the stomach and the other twice in the arm during a fight involving a third man at the Halal Guys in Porter Square around 7:40 p.m. WFXT reports both victims were taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

The Boston Licensing Board today approved a request by Black Seed to extend its closing time from 2:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. in its new location one door down from its old one on Tremont Street in Downtown Crossing. Read more.

Correction: The 11 p.m. closing time originally listed here was for the restaurant space Black Seed is moving into. Its current location, next door, lists a 2 a.m. closing time.

The Zoning Board of Appeal yesterday approved plans for a "New York style" halal takeout place at 106-120 Cambridge St. that would offer Halal dishes such as chicken and lamb over rice and falafel. Read more.

Yahya Noor, owner of Tawakal Halal Cafe, which serves Somali food in East Boston's Jeffries Point Tuesday through Sunday, is thinking of adding a menu that would be just vegetarian on Mondays and is seeking advice to go along the East Indian spices that would go on the dishes.

The Everett City Council is considering a proposal for a halal slaughterhouse on Revere Beach Parkway that would let customers pick out an animal (chicken, goat or sheep) that would then be slaughtered and packaged up for them. There's opposition.
