Just when you think you've heard it all: At 9.26 p.m., the MBTA reported 20-minute delays on the Mattapan Line "due to poor lighting at Valley Road" - which the trolleys were just completely bypassing. The T rolled out shuttle buses.

Banker & Tradesman reports the MBTA is looking to turn the giant frown that is the crumbling garage at Alewife station into a smile by letting a developer replace it with something that would be the ultimate in transit-oriented development. The T acknowledges it would have to work closely with a developer to ensure construction wouldn't disrupt transit service, so more like the work at South Station than the work at Haymarket.

WHDH reports on a multi-vehicle crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike Friday night that sent a truck over the Jersey barriers and onto the Framingham Line right of way, where it stopped right at the tracks.

At 11:20 a.m., the MBTA reported delays of up to 15 minutes on the Riverside Line as workers "assisted a turtle from the tracks" at Chestnut Hill.

You know the drill: They have to shut a major part of the Orange Line for some preventative maintenance they weren't able to get to when they shut the entire line for a month of preventive maintenance in 2022, this time between Back Bay and Wellington for ten days starting Tuesday. Update: At 8:35, the T was reporting 25-minute delays to somebody on the tracks at JFK/UMass.

At 7:22 p.m., the MBTA reported 20-minute delays on the Red Line due to a deceased train at Andrew. At 8:19, Adam Castiglioni asked when the trains would start up, because he's still stuck in the system, more specifically, at North Quincy, where not a single train has come through in either direction in 20 minutes.

The MBTA has gone full bustitution between Maverick and Suffolk Downs because of a wire problem at Airport, the nature of which they don't specify, but that's where the trains put up their connectors for those wires.

Three Quincy teens were arraigned Friday on charges they decided to go all droog on some other South Shore teens and bash in their heads at the Kenmore Green Line stop on May 10, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports, adding police are continuing to try to ID two other alleged attackers. Update, 8:21 a.m.: T reports service back to normal

The MBTA reports the Green Line is dead between Copley and Government Center because of a switch problem at Arlington. Take the Orange Line instead, or the 39 bus should your travel plans include Huntington Avenue, they say.

The MBTA reports an outbound Red Line train at Charles/MGH that's developed a sudden fear of crossing the water is gumming up the works towards Alewife.

Smashed glass pane at Ashmont station

Transit Police reports that "several male juveniles" spent some time striking panes of glass at the Ashmont Red Line station, causing them to crack, around 10 p.m. on Sunday. Read more.

At 11:08 a.m., the MBTA reported delays on inbound Green Line service due to a deceased trolley at Kenmore.

Earlier in the morning, the T reported similarly pining-for-the-fjords status on the Mattapan Line due to a no-longer-functioning trolley there - but that one was bad enough that the T was advising riders to just forget about it and take the Route 24 bus instead.

D Line train heading into Boston tonight

Mbcrowley snapped an inbound D Line trolley just past Waban around 7 tonight:

No One is using the T … yes some will board but they have a ton of work to do to get people back and spending $$$ on consultants to figure out how to save money is not going to get riders

Transit Police report officers responded to North Quincy on the Red Line on a report of a woman using "a metal object" to smash windows on a Red Line car around 8:30 p.m. on Friday. She will be charged with malicious destruction of property, was brought to a local hospital after officers "determined she was in need of psychological services," police say.

TransitMatters reports that while, yes, Blue Line trains now trundle along in less without slow zones, the peak-times trip between Wonderland and Bowdoin still takes longer on average than in February, 2023, before the T announced zillions of slow zones everywhere.

TransitMatters says that's because while the tracks are now in good shape, the Blue Line is still suffering "due to a switch issue, a signal issue, or a more significant ops issue altogether."

The MBTA this week sued Hitachi Rail, hired to install systems to keep commuter-rail trains from slamming into each other for $50 million for delays in finishing the system on routes in and out of North Station. Read more.
