Transit Police report they are looking to arrest a man on civil-rights charges because of the way he verbally accosted people at the Charles/MGH Red Line station around 7 a.m. on Jan. 19: Read more.

Boston.com reports police say a man who was standing on the sidewalk in front of the Emporium gas station and car wash on Washington Street in Roslindale "inexplicably" ran into the street around 5:30 p.m. on Monday and was hit by a 30 bus.

After years of Milton residents fretting about evil Bostonians swarming their town, it's time for some turnabout: The executive board of the Cedar Grove Civic Association in Dorchester says its residents should join the fight against a ballot question in Milton that would allow denser development in parts of that town, to keep more commuting Miltonians from swarming their neighborhood. At 4:12 p.m., the MBTA reported a deceased Red Line train at JFK/UMass.

WCVB reports a man trying to get from one side of the Hyde Park train station to the other around 3:10 p.m. was hit and killed by a commuter-rail train on one of the busiest stretches of train tracks in the Boston are - used by both commuter-rail and high-speed Amtrak trains. A fence separates the two sides of the station to try to keep people from attempting to cross the tracks.

The Green Line's day started inauspiciously per an MBTA announcement at 5:59 a.m. about 20-minute delays due to an earlier deceased trolley at Chiswick Road in Brighton.

At 5:36 p.m. on the first full day of Green Line operations in awhle, the T reported delays of up to 20 minutes on the Green Line due to a trolley whose poor heart gave out at Hynes.

Around 5:30 p.m., the MBTA announced Red Line delays of up to 20 minutes due to an "unauthorized person" on the tracks. Said person is no longer on the tracks and service has resumed, the T says.

Shortly before 1 p.m., the MBTA announced the Orange Line was "standing by" because one of its brand-new Orange Line trains decided Chinatown was a good place to die.

For the third day in a row, the MBTA had to halt service on the Orange Line because of something that made Boston firefighters have to get on the tracks at Massachusetts Avenue, sometime before 8:25 p.m. Firefighters were off the tracks by around 8:50 p.m. Read more.

An outbound Red Line train thought it could, but it couldn't, so it died nearJFK/UMass, causing delays that reached 15 minutes shortly after noon but which were cleared shortly before 12:30, the MBTA reports.

Transit Police report that around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, a man broke into one of the operator cabs on a Red Line train - but not the one the train's driver was using - and "hung his head out the window" while the train was in motion towards Andrew. Read more.

18-wheeler with some major trailer damage at Canton bridge

A Stoughton Line bridge minding its own business at Bolivar Street in Canton Monday morning was rudely awakened by a tractor-trailer driver who perhaps figured the "low clearance" markings didn't apply in his case, only, as ever, it did. Transit Police report that, unlike the trailer, the bridge suffered no damage.

At 8:46 a.m., the MBTA reported 25-minute delays on the B Line due to a trolley approaching rigor mortis near Warren Street. The trolley was shoved out of the way and service resumed about a half hour later, the T updated.

At 1:45 p.m., the MBTA reported it was rolling out buses to take the place of Riverside trolleys between Reservoir and Kenmore due to a train that kicked the bucket at Brookline Village.
