Crows attack bald eagle

A communications tower off Rivermoor Street, near Millennium Park in West Roxbury, is a popular place for birds to perch and survey the nearby Charles River. The other day, though, a pair of crows decided to try to drive off a bald eagle sitting up there. And Mary Ellen was there to watch the dive bombing.

Wicked Local Brookline reports a resident called 911 to ask what to do about the crows harassing a neighbor's cockatoo - which was sitting outside, in a tree, as one does in the summertime.

A concerned citizen checks in from Allston this morning:

Large number of crows circling above intersection of commonwealth and Harvard. This could be a bad omen for bike riders, hipsters, college students with upcoming finals, or even the expected winter storm.

Caw!

The Framingham rest stop on the turnpike is topped with a fake owl to try to keep birds off the roof. Surprise! It doesn't work.
