Murphy has been a very good City Councilor and he has been very helpful to many people. He deserves endorsements from his constituents and respect from Massachusetts Democrats
Murphy runs with Bulger as Keating runs against him

As a Republican, I've met Steve Murphy twice and came away liking him. I like Republican Karyn Polito too, so if the final is between the two of them, I'm not sure what I'll do. Funny though, I just got a flyer in the mail from Norfolk D.A. Bill Keating who is running for Congress. The entire flyer was focused on Keating attempting to topple Bulger while both were in the State Senate in the 90's. Basically, it touted Keating having the courage to stand against Bulger, implying that Bulger was corrupt. Interesting that Murphy embraces Bulger.

Seems Murph is concerned about how somebody like Philip Markoff could commit suicide in the Suffolk County jail. Sheriff Andrea Cabral - against whom Murphy once ran - says Murphy "persists in talking about things about which he knows nothing," WBZ radio reports.

because, presumably, the jailers should be more protective of the life of a high-profile murderer than the lives of the hundreds of other similarly troubled inmates at the facility? A lot of these guys are likely at risk of hurting themselves, or others-obviously life isn't going too well if you're in jail. Murphy's concern would be more believable if he was on record about other jailhouse suicides or issues with inmate supervision. AFAIK this is his first time speaking about the problem.
