Convention center, city to loan company $21 million to rebuild the Tea Party museum

The Globe reports.
Hopefully some of that money will go to fireproofing, since the ship burned down in 1991, and what was left of the old museum building burned in 2007.

Who's "The Partner"
Interesting to see that the name of the company actually running the operation isn't mentioned. I have to question the financial viability of any private project (and vice versa for that matter) that leans on government for funding - any questions - see the W.
And if there are any further questions see the Herald's coverage.

4.5%? that's about what a highly rated blue chip company would get in the open market - most people couldn't get that with an adequately capitalized mortgage these days - and the city is extending a 4.5% rate to a speculative startup burdened with heavy debt?
And check out the conflicts of interests tied to politics, development and the otherwise politically connected. Frightening.
BRA to discuss project Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
As part of their regular board meeting:
Why do we have to pay for this?
A creative person might suggest that there are interested "Parties" with lots of money who would love to taut their expenditure to restore this monument to rebellion in light of such a bastion of liberal elites like Boston having let it burn to the ground (twice!).
Let them have the narrative. We'll gladly take the money.
Maybe they realized the tea
Maybe they realized the tea party was a pro (East India Tea) tax uprising?
Oops!
dress it up like palin
get it a primary win and we could raise $2 million for it in less than a week.
