Fens on fire again tonight - but not as dramatically

Tbobtubb tweets a fire by the Fenway Victory Gardens around 10:30 p.m. was big enough to shut down Boylston between Charlesgate and Park Drive just as the Sox game was getting out - but nothing like the April 5 blaze.

I walked by it
and called 911 to report it on my way out of the game tonight. I spent most of the day at my garden there... It looked like it was either a garden or (more likely) the compost area in the section where the fire was. The compost piles were just ground, wood chips just delivered and the atmosphere was pretty dry today, making it ripe for fire...
You realize, someone will be
You realize, someone will be along shortly suggesting it was deliberately set, per the socialist/fascist/nazi/communist/liberal/nanny-state/granolas in Washington who are trying to prevent the growth of vegetables because it kills the corn subsidy or the homosexuals from having sex wherever they want because they're bigots.
Or something similarly ridiculous.

If we don't pave the Fens then people will continue to suffer from seasonal allergies from all the plants and expensive RedSox parking.
Like the song says pave paradise and put up a parking lot. A new boutique and a swinging hot-spot would do wonders for the local economy.
