BREAKING: Boston City Council backs Police Raise.

After the arbitratrator submitted a 12 page explanation that the Boston Police Department should receive their 25.4% raise because of the new threat of terrorism in Boston, the Boston City Council unanimously voted to support the salary increase.

Crime: The huge pay raise is certainly criminal. Victims are all Boston taxpayers, and likely the City's fiscal future.

Politics: Especially with councilors like Pressley and Murphy voicing their feigned concerns, then voting Yes anyway.

All councilors have proven themselves-yet again-to be chicken sh*t. Including today's no-show.

4.3% raise per year over the next 6 is barely a cost of living increase. so the previous poster needs to relax. The final number may be big but it is not to far out of line with other Public Safety contracts through out the state where the average raise over the contract is between 2.5 - 3% over 3 years. in this case you will have savings in the years 4,5,6. which is a good deal for tax payers of Boston.

The real criminal is Tom Menino who probably had a chance to curb this and get a deal done in the last couple of years before it reached an arbitrators desk.

But the real question that should be asked is.

How does a real estate agent know the details about what was in that finding?

Well, tell that to taxpaying folks in the private-sector (and those in other city unions) who get less, if anything at all.

I do every time they make the statement this is what my taxes are paying. I flip them a quarter and tell them to keep the change and your attempt to make it seem like only private sector employees pay taxes is an outdated talking point. Everyone pays taxes. those who think that the private sector is at a disadvantage is fooling themselves and is an anti-capitalist.

So you don't know your facts you just read the paper. Wow what a novel concept. So why didn't you cite it right? At the very least post that second link with the initial post. Is this you just trying to pass off facts as your own investigative finding? I mean you like too play loose with the truth. I refer you to your post about Calvin Brown who you tried to link to a political rival. In the article there wasn't even a mention of Tompkins or any mention of the sheriff's department at all. So when you say "I know my facts" I say you don't know anything at all.
