The train just came to a stop, so he'd need to be awake enough to keep his balance for that. He's also not leaning very firmly against the doors; surely not enough to fall straight back. Funny though (the first time you watch it).
Filming with a fish eye lens, no less, like on a GoPro camera for example. It's not like they have those on phones so chances of some random, spontaneous filming seem perhaps more remote, in addition to the other items mentioned already.
My first thought was that it was funny and even gasped as I saw it. I played it again and my second thought was that it was staged. If he had been sleeping, I don't know that he could have kept his balance very well when the train came to a stop. Although, if you really think about it, who in their right mind wants to fall back like a dead weight on to concrete? Could go either way. - Mea www.hertrainstories.blogspot.com

It looks like someone was filming this guy. With the option of preventing an accident someone chose to film it, and for this we thank him.
...but that really a good thing?

Anybody else think this is fake? The way he puts both hands behind him seems like he was preparing to fall backwards.

Yep, it totally looks staged to me. Still funny, but staged.

Also, funny, isn't it, how someone just happened to be recording the guy at that moment.

I'm calling fake. How do you sleep that deeply and manage to remain standing?

... or photographed by (at least) two different people. The one who made the video and the one you see standing on the far right.
