Courthouse station on the Silver Line all wet

A Silver Line sprinkler system went kablooie near Courthouse station. As of 5:40 p.m., the Fire Department was halting buses from entering the station, water was pooling to about a foot deep in the tunnel and a BWSC crew was on the way.

Isn't this a bit bizarre?

Shouldn't the mains in this area only be 5-10 years old? Isn't that especially weird?

Just reported to be a busted sprinkler system, not a water main, that was doing the leaking.

And the fire strobes were going off and the alarms blaring. The other side of the busway was wet. I guess I just made it through without a serious hiccup to my commute.

The best (fastest) experience I had on the silver bus was when there was a fire or smoke in one of the stations and they just used the streets instead of the tunnel, where the speed limit is something like 5-10 mph and takes the bus past the highway entrance it needs to get to the Ted Williams tunnel, so it needs to backtrack. They just need to either upgrade it to light rail and complete the tunnel all the way to the airport from south station or abandon it altogether, which would let the state finally fulfill the 'one seat ride from dudley square to the airport' we were promised in the Weld/Celucci years.
