Be careful pulling a Weiner on Skype with women you don't know - and don't give strangers $600
By adamg on Thu, 09/22/2016 - 8:46am
The Huntington News reports a male Northeastern student who got to Skyping with a woman he met on Facebook disrobed for her - after which she demanded $500 to not send the photo to his friends. And another student told campus police a guy who said his son was in the morgue convinced the student to give him $600 - but that wasn't enough because now the guy is calling him asking for more.

Wait, what?
How is "send me $500 or I'm going to show your friends your D" a threat? Hell, I'd post the video myself just to spite her.
Better question is, why did you approve the Facebook friend request of somebody who's obviously not a genuine person? If it's too good to be true, it is. Bro, the hot chick with whom you share no mutual friends and has four friends after signing up for Facebook an hour ago (because, yeah, it's totally believable that anybody under 30 who isn't on Facebook now is signing up in 2016) does not have legitimate motives.
How the (expletive) did you get admitted to Northeastern? Amazing, I don't get in, but your dumb ass does. What a country.
tindder
I'm guessing this happened through a dating website. I've had multiple accounts of "women" immediately message me (dead giveaway) after matching and ask if I want to talk over skype. Pretty obvious it's a fake account.
Nope, Facebook
"A Northeastern University (NU) student reported being friended on Facebook by a woman on Facebook who asked him to Skype."
The more common thing I see
The more common thing I see on Facebook is stealing someone's identity and creating a new Facebook page using the same name and photo. The imposter invites the friends from the old page and figures out a scam from there.
They should provide some kind of orientation
regarding how to drink alcohol to NU undergrads, especially freshmen. Good grief.
I never understood how this is a cycle
I figured out how to drink, and I probably have some really good ideas that I could teach a teenager on how to drink. It's as if parents forget their drinking years once they have kids.
"It's immoral to let a sucker
"It's immoral to let a sucker keep his money"
That police blotter is a treasure trove of dumbassery!
Sure, that flasher kid should know you never show your face or identifiable marks (e.g. tattoos) in the same shot as your genitalia. Then the fake scam artist in Romania can send your nudies anywhere they want without, er, blowing your cover.
But my mind is blown by the student who handed over the $600 to the "grieving dad," who is now shaking down said student for more. Are college kids today really so well-off they can blithely donate $600 to a stranger with a sad story?
Elliot Davis (aka Sob Story Guy) on campus?
Notice the third log on the page...
Tuesday, Sept. 13
2:01 p.m.
An NU student reported being approached last semester by a man who told him his car broke down and he needed money. He did not give the man any money but saw the same individual on campus the day prior to report. A report was filed.
Certainly sounds like Elliot...
