Is that a venza?
I was hoping to get one of those. Do they blow up often?
Definitely not a Venza. Think
Definitely not a Venza. Think it is an accord crossover.
Definitely not a Tesla, either
Gas powered cars burn and explode much more often than electric ones, despite any over-reactive news stories you may see on tv.
Do you have any citation of a
Do you have any citation of a single instance of a car actually exploding?
Cars do not explode, despite any wildly imaginative movies you may see on tv.

Honda Crosstour
Crosstours are so ugly they should all be burned like the one above.
I never got crossovers. If
I never got crossovers. If you are going to get an SUV, get a real SUV. If you want a sedan, just get a sedan.
And if you're going to get a
And if you're going to get a sedan and sometimes need an SUV, then just get one of each.
There are pretty much zero
There are pretty much zero SUV roles that can be filled by such a vehicle.
The US lacks wagons
Europeans love theirs.
They have just about the same cargo carrying capacity. I don't get the US obsession with SUV's. Most of them don't go off road and don't handle that well due to higher center of gravity.. Someone told me they liked the high seating position. Is that true?
Enough of a difference
Not really. In the interest of "styling" , there's a loss of "U"tility, i.e. space. I want to be able to put 2 bicycles in the back standing up (along with a bunch of camping gear) and can't do that with any crossover because the roof is always lower and sloped down towards the rear of the vehicle to make it look sleeker.
They handle fine. Just don't pretend it's a Porsche.
Unfortunately, that's true, and IMHO a bad reason to own one.
Like anything else, it depends what you need/want.
They wouldn't be making them
They wouldn't be making them if people weren't buying them...

The smaller SUV's aren't quite as bad in this respect, but
SUV's, in general, especially the larger ones, are real gas-guzzlers, plus they're often quite expensive to maintain.
There's no justification for having them here in the city. The only times they really and truly make sense is if
A) One lives up in the mountains, where, especially during the snow season, or in the spring, when it tends to get muddy, both of which can make it tougher to drive up or down steep mountain roads, or dirt roads.
B) If a person frequently travels to such places.
Honda. I wonder what caused
Honda. I wonder what caused the fire, should be recalled!

That's rather horrific!
I mean...nothing like making an already-horrendous situation worse!
I was on the southbound side of I-93 earlier just this past Thursday afternoon, before the car fire in the Milton area, on the way to Yale Supply and Llighting down in Dorchester, at around 1:15 p. m. and it was already a mess. The Southeast Expressway is horrible enough under "normal" circumstances, but this absolutely took the cake! The traffic moved at around 5 m.p.h. pretty much the whole time. It wasn't quite as bad going back north, but it was still rather horrendous. I later heard that there'd been a lot of accidents on I-93, which made the Memorial Day weekend traffic much worse.
I will give this driver credit
...for pulling over on the side of the road and not blithely continuing on until crashing into a crowd of pedestrians or a beloved local pizza joint.
I can agree to that, Michael.
The driver displayed good sense in this horrific situation, and the display of good sense on the driver's part is more than likely what saved his life, not to mention countless other lives.
The life that one saves just may be their own, as some people say.
