As we waited for the light at West Street, this guy slowly made his way down Hyde Park Avenue towards Cleary Square on a motorized wheel thing.

Will you now be claiming Hyde Park is a growing area of innovation like you did when you posted a pic of a smoking douche on a hoverboard?
Nope

How were they doing it ironically? Can you not hide or park while using a two-wheeled "hoverboard"?

You still need to learn how to use these, but these 1-wheelers make much more sense than the "hoverboards".
* These can lean.
* You can fit a bigger battery in it, probably.
* They go faster, allegedly 15mph / bike lane speed.

Could be mistaken but they've been out longer than hover boards. Solowheel is the one I know of but in sure there are others. They'll set you back a pretty penny and seem to be safer than the new ones.

I've been seeing this guy on River Street near Cleary for the last few weeks. I bet he got it for Christmas.

Saw this guy today on River riding a white scooter/wheel and carrying two cases of bottled water in the rain. Impressive.
