Roxbury shooting victim identified

Marquis Waithe

Boston Police today identified the man shot to death on Brookledge Street in Roxbury on Thursday afternoon as Marquis Waithe, 22, of Roxbury.

Friends and relatives said Waithe was a quiet man always willing to lend a hand - whether volunteering to help feed the homeless or even dressing up as the Easter bunny for the Tenants Development Corporation's Peer Leaders Program, in which he participated.

His family has set up a GoFundMe page to help defray funeral costs, as well as a Facebook page on which to remember him.

Is it really 15K?

Not trying to be cheeky, genuinely wondering.

Thanks, prick. I was actually looking for some personal experience rather than a google answer, you smug asshole.

and yet the only person throwing out words like prick and asshole here is you. you got some sort of weird necrophilia fetish or something? seems weird to focus on those parts of the anatomy in a thread about the dead.

never even crossed my mind, but for you to even bring up such an obscure fetish leads one to believe you think of it quite often.

and, it's more than a little weird and creepy.

There's really no reason to use language like that. Thanks.

If you want to know what a funeral typically costs, wouldn't the statistical distribution of thousands of data points tell you far more than some random person saying, "Burying my uncle cost $7,200?" Of what value would personal experience be in answering your question?

it's called asking a fucking question. jesus christ, you all must be a whole lot of fun at a party.

"Hey Bob, how have you been?"
"Why don't you ask everyone else how I have been? Of what value would personal experience be in answering your question?"

15k is on the high end in Boston, with casket, plot, and funeral home costs generally going for 5k-12k for your average service but 15k isn't too far off the grid.

Nothing says "I'm insufferable and smug" like a LMGTFY link. Do you move the bibles at the public library into the fiction section, too?

but theres something to be said for hitting CTRL+T and typing "average cost of funeral" then hitting enter.

this line of bullshit i'm participating in is only slightly better than the epidemic of grammar and spelling wizards that are running rampant on this board and devaluing people's ideas because they aren't presented in the prettiest fashion.

Here's hoping that there's a reduction in violence. As a minority, it's painful to see the young lives who never get any guidance and resort to violence

You guys are morbidly disgusting insensitive and self-centered to be holding an argument regarding funeral cost beneath this young man's picture. It shows that you have no humanity and no sensitivity to the family and the survivors that are connected to this young man. Shame on you disgust me in your sickening. When someone in your family passes on please make sure you remind yourself of what you did to this person.
