Somebody calling in bomb threats to Boston-area buildings

BC High School in Dorchester, South Boston High School, East Boston High School, the South Bay jail and a location on Queensberry Street in the Fenway all got bomb threats around noon. Police have not ordered evacuations, but are sending bomb experts to the locations.

Meanwhile, Newton North High School has also gotten a call, as have schools in Cambridge, Randolph and, of course, Arlington.

Robocalls, non-specific threats, etc.?

Places were not evacuated, and the bomb techs fairly quickly cleared them.

These threats were probably by or inspired by these jerks.

Half way down the article it says this group (@Ev4cuati0nSquad) claimed responsibility for the Weymouth MA school automated threats. You can google more about their exploits.

Dear Families:

I regret to inform you that we have received another bomb threat. However, for many reasons this one is even less likely to be credible than those we’ve received in the past.
Shortly before 2 PM today, CPS was just one of several districts in the region to receive a recorded message stating that a bomb would go off. Neither Cambridge Public Schools nor the city of Cambridge were specifically named in this recording, and police quickly confirmed that this message went out to multiple communities in Greater Boston. The message was received at our main school district phone number. In consultation with the City and Police, it was determined not to evacuate schools in response to this phone call.

In the interest of full disclosure, and because news items are likely to appear in the media this evening, we want to keep you informed of the fact that Cambridge was among those to receive this recorded message. We are sending this message out via email in the interest of maintaining maximum transparency.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, but we see no cause for alarm at this time.

Sincerely,
Jeff Young, Superintendent of Schools

Quincy High School was dismissed early today due to an "electronic threat"

They got one of these "threats" and checked cameras and did a dog sweep. No dismissal, no sky falling.

I thought it was awesome as a response, but there are a couple of loudmouth chicken-littles in town (who do NOT have kids at the HS) who still won't STFU about it. BE VERY AFRAID OR ELSE I guess.

Police have not ordered evacuations, but are sending bomb experts to the locations.

Wait, we're finally seeing rational responses to these things?

These are not the first hoax calls to Boston this year; BPD didn't evacuate buildings with the earlier ones, either.
