In my experience, if you keep your vehicle moving slowly forward, the turkeys get out of the way. They seem to be smarter in that way than that Tiananmen Square guy.

I've had them stand fast in front of the car, but I have encountered flocks of Turkeys and Geese while on the bike and they just make way for the twowheels.
Geese, Turkeys, Herons, and raptors all just ignore kayaks on the water.
