Architect's rendering.
The Pipefitters Association, Local 537, has submitted detailed plans to the BPDA to replace its current one-story headquarters and training facility on Enterprise Street with a modern four-story, 70,000-square-foot building that will fit in well with the South Bay Town Center now under construction across the street.
In its filing with the BPDA, the union says:
The new building will solidify the Union’s home for the next 100 years and the Union’s commitment to the Dorchester neighborhood. ...
The Project will provide an exciting and thoughtful contemporary design that will improve the overall feel of the neighborhood, and welcome the neighborhood. The new building will highlight the Union, and the landscaped cross-site pathway from Enterprise Street to Clapp Street will welcome neighbors through the site. In addition, the Project will reduce the use of on-street parking with 117 new on-site parking spaces for the Union members and apprentices.
In addition to 10,700 square feet of open space, the union says the building's new auditorium will be available for community meetings and events.

I'm no architect, but, the pipefitters union? They could've gone with a pipe exterior, no? Here's an alternate design a bit closer to home.
I'll take their design

Sorry Adam, but your two suggestions look like under-construction refineries.

which are way more interesting to look at IMO. That style of flat beige-ish or reddish walls and tons of glass architecture seems super bland now.

Not to say the Pompidou isn't a favorite, but structural expressionism is a bit overdone these days
