Students screwed as UMass Boston suddenly cancels classes

The Globe reports the move affects some summer and fall classes that some students need to graduate.

Time for UMass President Martin Meehan to step up and fix this short-term problem.

The medium-term solution is in the lap of deputy chancellor Mills. And the long-term solution is in the lap of a new chancellor.

But now, Marty owns this problem.

It's worth noting that if UMass Boston was a bank, it would have been bailed out already.

And if UMass Boston were GE, we'd be promising them helipads.

This whole situation is outrageous.

and undertook an expensive expansion plan without the funding, went way over budget, and was now in the situation UMass is currently in, the CEO would be fired, the stock would plummet, and they'd probably be bought by someone for pennies on the dollar.

Th CEO would be fired and walk away with a $40 million dollar bonus... extra if he groped female employees. Those at the top always look out for one another at the expense of those they perceive as being beneath them, ie employees, or in the case of UMass: tuition-paying students.
