Taco Bell count in Boston shrinks in half
By adamg on Fri, 01/20/2017 - 1:07pm
Michael Ratty reports the Taco Bell at Northeastern University is gone, leaving Boston with just one Taco Bell, on VFW Parkway northbound in West Roxbury, just past the Dedham line and just before the new sex-toy shop.

Is that the one that's also a Long John Silver's?
which would make it the only Long John Silver's in the area as well..what a combo. do they even have fish tacos there?
You betcha
It's West Roxbury's own little Festival Strip o' Fun!
I'm just glad
glad that it's a new sex toy shop 'cause otherwise... ew.
oh boy
the jokes I could make about that...
Used to be 3 in Cambridge,
Used to be 3 in Cambridge, one in Somerville. Now just the one at Cambridgeside left. This sucks.
Yeah
But I think the franchise gave up their franchise agreement.
But no despair.. there's one on Revere Beach Parkway in Everett and one in Squire Road in Revere in the Northgate Shopping Center.

Eat local Tacos Anna's muy Bien!
apples to oranges
There is no sense in comparing Taco Bell to Mexican food. It is an entirely different class of food, one that more authentic places can't satisfy when you've got the craving.
Not really...
Their food sucks. After 35 years of not commuting for work I am now weekdays in the 'burbs and commuting to construction sites once I get there. I miss my 25 years working in Central Square where food choices, ethnic and otherwise, were readily available and an affordable alternative to this crap. Often times no choice for lunch then fast food. Taco Bell sometimes but this stuff is disgusting...I live for the days when I have a midday meeting in the city and can go to Cafe Mexico or Anna's for lunch or the meetings in Dorchester where the world of great ethnic (and cheap) food opens up to a totally new level!
Don't anyone just make a few
Don't anyone just make a few sangwiches at home anymore?
Sounds like a whole list of bad choices were made
Which are unrelated to the existence of Taco Bell. It's just fast food, they aren't trying to fix your life.
Yup
first off.. Greg.. don't like it, don't eat there. I won't eat at Ana's because I think it's disgusting and a rip off. Sorry I'd rather go to Boca Grande. Everyone's tastes are different.
and anon, I agree, it's not the same. But as I said in a previous post about Taco Bell..
People don't get to McDonald's because they want a good hamburger. They go to McDonald's because it's McDonald's. If people wanted a good quality hamburger, they'll go elsewhere.
Same with Taco Bell. People don't go to Taco Bell because they want authentic TexMex. They go to Taco Bell because they have 3 dollars and need a laxative. If people want good quality TexMex, they will go elsewhere also.
This isn't the first time this has come up
Concern about Taco Bell closing came up in 2011.
Way to bury the lead, Adam
I give this story just one chalupa.

Just before the chicken taco debut? Life is so unfair.

I miss having an accessible Taco Bell for late night drunk eating. *sigh*
Late night eating? They had
Late night eating? They had been closing at 7pm on Friday's and not open on weekends so that option was gone long before they closed for good.

Del Taco!
Del taco where are you? You promised to have dozens of restaurants in NJ open and hinted at more northeast expansion.. I have yet to see any on the east coast. Boston is prime target to expand in!
