Walsh and Jackson not the only ones running for mayor this year

Donald Osgood Sr., a city anti-violence worker and minister from Dorchester is one of four announced candidates for Boston mayor in the fall elections.

On his Facebook page, Osgood lists some of the reasons that people should sign the petitions he will pick up at the Elections Department tomorrow:

Please please reserve your signatures for for those who care about you and the city of Boston!

Not the ones who have said it and have positioned many to become homeless and say they care.

Or those who claim to help with the violence, but are cutting budgets to after school and programs that keep our young people safe.

Or who say education is #1 but are closing good schools, not properly training teachers for our youth and pushing our youth out the doors.
It's time to make a genuine assessment and choose wisely.

Mary Franklin of Roslindale also says she is running for the four-year office.
