Man arrested in the Dominican Republic for 2014 Franklin Field murder

Boston Police report fugitive-unit officers flew to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic yesterday to arrest Freidy Baez, 30, for the stabbing murder of George Sanchez at 5 Ames St. on Sept. 21, 2014.

Sanchez, 42 and a father of six, had an argument with Baez that ended when Baez pulled out a knife and left Sanchez to die outside his apartment.

Sanchez is scheduled for arraignment today on a charge of second-degree murder in Dorchester Municipal Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
