The MBTA cut the power to both sides of the Orange Line at Back Bay around 12:30 after trash between the tracks just outbound from the station burst into flames. The fire was quickly extinguished and the Boston Fire Department returned the scene to T control around 12:45 so that power could be turned back on.

Even a small fire could cause massive panic if the subway filled up with smoke. These fires are happening too often on the MBTA.

This is the banner week for Boston. Multiple fires, multiple train shutdowns, multiple collapses. And its just Tuesday
