It gets used in keyboarding to this day. My kids used it.

I believe it was developed for typing practice. I never encountered it otherwise.

Nightmares of writing that stupid phrase in my penmanship book over and over and over....

And then getting yelled at because we'd write it one word at a time down the page instead of a whole sentence across (much more efficient).

...if the fox community has ever considered a class-action suit to claim residuals for all the schools/programs that reference them in basic typing exercises.
Of course, the lazy dog community has been just too, well, lazy to do anything about it.
