All those rental trucks aren't going to drive themselves back to Long Island by themselves

Maryr found one of the secret resting grounds of post-Allston Christmas rental trucks - a parking lot in Woburn. Fans of yellow trucks, meanwhile, know they can gaze to their heart's content at an entire fleet of them at the West Roxbury Home Depot.

Caravans in Connecticut
Maybe 25 or 30 years ago, my wife and I drove to visit family in Connecticut over Labor Day weekend. On the way back, we saw caravans of presumably empty U-Hauls being driven south on I-91 and I-84, back to New York, all traveling in groups. Dozens of trucks.
It was early enough in the holiday weekend that we thought they might be renting the trucks out again, to make a second one-way trip to Boston while the demand was high.
Memory Spurred
Years ago, when I was a wee one, My Dad picked up some part time work driving rental trucks to other cities. I wonder if they still do that now?
Suldog
The gathering of the clans
Now that their work is done, they join with their kin in a celebration.
They will party all night for a week ... then sober up and scatter to the four winds for another year.
