Citizen complaint of the day: The half-naked garbageman on Beacon Hill

A concerned citizen overcame the vapors long enough to file a 311 complaint about a shirtless garbageman he or she spotted this morning on Mt. Vernon Street on Beacon Hill:

The garbage collector was picking up garbage and loading the truck without a shirt on. This does not seem professional nor appropriate.

And tell them he got maggot infused trash fluid all over his shirt and they are sorry (s)he had to see a man's bare chest.

Was he half naked or half dressed? I guess it depends on your perspective

You don't know where that garbage has been ! This sounds very unsaniitary

Do they rub the trash on their chests? The ppl who pick up the trash in front of my house pick up the barrels and dump them.

1. we need germs. Without several pounds of bacteria inside our bodies we would die rather quickly.

2. why is it more sanitary to get said "germs" on one's shirt? It still goes through to the skin.

3. Is it more sanitary to shower the "germs" off one's body than to launder a shirt with "germs" with other laundry? Discuss.

4. Put the lysol down - excessive germaphobia leads to disease

OMG yes.. I have an immune system-related illness and I agree with the statement above.

We need GERMS. Exposure to germs allows your body to build up an immunity. Constantly using hand sanitizer and being overly clean hurts your body more.

Now its not say go roll around in a sh*t pile but put the hand sanitizer down sometimes and just wash your hands. It's OK, you won't die from it.

Some people have compromised immune systems and more germs are exactly the wrong answer. (And if you've had an organ transplant, you don't want to "build up" your immune system, or else you'll reject the organ.)

Tee-shirts don't stop germs.

Professional-type garbageman uniforms surely do, you betcha.

This is a bad thing?

There's a lot of very attractive garbage men out there with great bodies. All that lifting heavy trash bins over their heads into a truck. And they do it with such ease (if you watch).

It's nasty to think, but lifting a barrel over your head every 2-4 minutes as you go down a street is quite the workout. I'd go shirtless too.

Yeah, this.

And if they catch you looking? THEY SHOW OFF!

They know.

For several years, there was this garbage man in Revere who was pretty much half naked doing his route. And he had a body to show off.

So much so he was approached by a photographer one day, to come and do model work for him.

So yeah they know.. they know they are showing off. But then again, if I had a jacked body, I'd be showing it off to anyone who wanted to look.

Some Verizon and Eversource Line men.... *drool*

some of those dudes are JACKED. Again if i had a job where I was working out all the time.... I'd be jacked too.

To re-up the comment above from me.. once a long time ago a Verizon repairman came to my (former) employer to fix a phone line. Yeah let's just say I have a Verizon Employee Shirt now with his name on it, and list of NPX codes to use.

I also have shirts from Comcast, AT&T Broadband, and Mass Electric Employees................

Hey! I'm an easy going guy to get along with...

I think you're getting a bit hot & bothered for UHub. You're a great netizen here but I think it's time for you to either take a cold shower or log off and take care of things yourself so that you get back to your normal comments.

That way we could see their white nationalist tattoos and know up front if they're good cops or bad cops.

If you are specifically looking for tattoos to identify white nats, then you are going to miss a large segment of that population. You may want to consider other search and ID tactics...

"The garbage collector was picking up garbage and loading the truck without a shirt on. His sinewy forearms fairly gleamed in the early morning light, and a stray drop of perspiration slowly, oh so slowly, made its way from his neck down, down, past his paradigmatic working-class chest, across his stomach -- not yet bloated by age or excessive consumption of alcohol. Tranquil, aloof, utterly unconcerned with his immediate surroundings, he let fly a manly-sized globule of spit and phlegm, and seemed to take satisfaction in the distance it traveled before it struck the pavement and dissipated into millions of droplets. And then, without a trace of self-consciousness, he reached down and briefly adjusted himself, as the garbage truck bore him onward, to his rendezvous with the effluvia of Beacon Hill citizenry.
"This does not seem professional nor appropriate. But for one brief shining moment, it made someone -- borne down by the endless succession of days and routine -- feel alive again."

I assume it was a troll 311, because I can't believe anybody would give a rat's ass if this guy too his shirt off.

This thread made my day. Hope this garbageman’s route gets changed to JP where he will be appreciated.

Would a black bow tie on an elastic choker and some narrow suspenders be okay?

Shirtless man standing IN garbage (complaint says Mission Hill, but sure looks like Roxbury to me, but what do I know?).
