Someone left their huge bag of bagels here.

say something.

"Would it kill you to brew some coffee?"

Pigeons probably phoned it in to the BPD so they'd send the bomb squad to blow this up too.

On Facebook, Mike Mennonno writes:

This isn’t a big mystery. This was probably left by a kind-hearted shop worker with the intention that hungry or homeless folks would pick it up. People who work at cafes and restaurants do this all the time. It’s not the best “solution” to food waste or food insecurity but their hearts are in the right place.

Strikes me as the most likely, but feel like someone should leave a note too then!

I pretty sure this isn't the first time I've seen a bag like that.

Still doesn't mean it couldn't be filled with bagels hollowed out and full of explosives though.

The hollowed out bagels could be stuffed with $50 bills!

Some of the restaurants I worked in would let us put food that was leftover & couldn't be used the next day-- like dinner rolls and soup-- outside someplace where homeless folks would easily find it. This looks like an attempt to do that.

Do not touch unless you can creepy crawl

It's for the freegans.

noun

noun: freegan; plural noun: freegans

a person who rejects consumerism and seeks to help the environment by reducing waste, especially by retrieving and using discarded food and other goods.

Does the state Unclaimed Property dept. have a findmassbagels.com site?

I have seen a gentleman with a large bag of bread in this area occasionally, feeding birds (and by extension, rats) in the Public Garden.

Would it be safe for a homeless person to eat food anonymously left outside this way? Isn't it possible some creep poisoned them first? Am I being too cynical?

You're being too cynical.

311 isn’t lost and found.
