The Dorchester Reporter reports the death of Steve Allen, long a familiar sight at events in Dorchester and South Boston, at 62.

Reporters, including photographers, are just as critical as police and health care workers and they deserve just as much respect.

In order for society to function, it needs to be informed. Accurate news is critical.
