Transit Police report arresting a Boston man on various charges at Kendall Square station Thursday night after, they say, he committed "a lewd act with his genitals fully exposed to everyone on the train."
Police say Adam Smith's hand and penis were anything but invisible as he enjoyed the wealth of, if not nations, himself, around 11 p.m. on an inbound Red Line train. When he was done, he lit up a cigarette, and was smoking it when the train stopped at Kendall and officers boarded.
Officers requested Smith exit the train. Smith immediately became belligerent, refused to comply or extinguish his cigarette and called the officers homophobic slurs.
The officers were forced to engage in a physical struggle with Smith and eventually placed him into custody.
Smith, 48, was charged with open and gross lewdness, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, police say.
Innocent, etc.

A Dorchester man was arrested on Halloween evening after allegedly exposing himself and urinating in the Andrew Square MBTA Station, authorities said Friday.
Adam Smith, 46, was charged with open and gross lewdness, Transit Police said in a statement.
Smith is accused of standing on the station’s southbound platform around 6:25 p.m. with his genitals fully exposed and urinating into the track area, the statement said.
Several children and “numerous other passengers” were near Smith at the time of the incident, according to Transit Police.
