Group to distribute free toilet paper to low-income families in Roxbury on Saturday
ICNA Relief will distribute toilet paper and household cleaners to low-income families at a new "specialty pantry" at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center in Roxbury Crossing between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Our Specialty Pantry is designed to fulfill an unmet need within our service area by distributing basic hygiene products and household cleaners. Individuals and families who receive SNAP (Food Stamp) are not able to purchase these crucial items with their benefits.
Although the Grand Opening was planned months in advance; the timing of our first distribution is that much more impactful given the spread of the Coronavirus. We will be giving basic items such as toilet paper and disinfecting cleaners; as well as disseminating educational information in various languages (Arabic and Somali) to help lessen the potential spread of the virus among vulnerable communities.
