MFA to re-open Sept. 26
By adamg on Wed, 09/09/2020 - 10:00am
Of course, there will be some changes due to Covid-19: You'll have to buy tickets in advance, wear a mask and undergo a health check before entering. Not all galleries will be open and there's no coat check. There's also a reserved hour - 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursdays - for high-risk visitors. The museum closed its doors March 12.

They'll be open Wed-Sun 10 am - 5 pm. No free Wednesday nights, but there are $5 tickets for 3-4 pm entry on Wednesdays.
The one thing I really don't understand is why ticket sales close at 1 pm the day before. Why can't you buy a ticket for the same day if slots are available?

I would be surprised if the MFA wouldn't be able accommodate visitors who due to physical limitations would have difficulty carrying their own coats, especially seeing as they have many elderly museum-goers and I have certainly seen many visitors in wheelchairs and using walkers. You could always call ahead and inquire if they could accommodate you.

I don't think they required you to check your coat, but they might not let you take it off and carry it if it's bulky.
Bags are more of an issue. But I can see why they don't want to be handling people's stuff and storing it together.
Did they stop profiling students of color?
Or is that on a temporary Covid hold? Asking for a friend.

that were literally touching everything, being wicked loud and legit running through the world-class museum because they did not listen to their own teachers.
