Police advise that a gun is not the best way to make somebody put a mask on

Bridgewater Police report arresting an East Bridgewater man they say pulled out a gun in an argument that began when the man insisted another person put a mask on while shopping at a local drugstore.

Todd Goulston, 59, now faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace for the July 3 incident, police say, adding his gun license was suspended and his firearm seized.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Friday, July 3, Bridgewater Police responded to a call from the manager at Walgreen's Pharmacy, 4 Central Square, for a report of two men arguing inside the store about one of the men not wearing a face mask.

The argument continued into the parking lot where one of the men, later identified as GOULSTON, allegedly pulled out a gun from his vehicle and pointed it at the other man, who had not been wearing a face mask in the store. GOULSTON then got in his vehicle and left the scene.

The victim, a 30-year-old Abington man, was not injured in the incident.

Should make the wearing of masks mandatory. He expects private business owners to enforce the rules while exempting riders on the MBTA who are mandated to wear masks. If they refuse to wear masks they still are allowed to ride the trains and buses and the police are powerless to do anything.
