Salem's a great place to visit, just not this October, in case you haven't heard.

I was there an hour ago
Smaller crowds than last weekend but still a lot of people still showing up.
Comng down I-93 through Andover
earlier today, the message sign near Dascomb Road was reading
OCTOBER EVENTS
IN SALEM
ARE CANCELED
This is a correct spelling
I use two Ls, but either spelling is correct.
[before editing, the comment above had "(sic)" after "canceled"]
Noted
Thanks.
My teen daughter says
One L is the USA ENGLISH spelling
Two Ls is the UK ENGLISH spelling
Related mnemonic:
Gray" in America
Grey" in England
Yes.
A friend of mine pointed that out to me as well. Good to know.
So ...
One L is the USA ENGLISH speling?
I know that’s the rule for
I know that’s the rule for spelling “canceled”/“cancelled”. Then only problem is, since nobody’s in charge of English, which is why there can’t be a decision on this word, why is there a correct or incorrect spelling of *anything*?
It's just wild
It's wild how whole cities are throwing away their peak tourism business season, only to hurt Trump and not at all based on science - John Keith or Fish I guess.
I only have one word
Sturgis
People who don't like Trumpet...
...don't plan their lives around trying to "hurt" him. LMFAO Just leave him enough rope. It's the one thing he's good at doing all by himself.
Um...
...that was Parkwayne making fun of two of our resident right wing party animals, not expressing a personal sentiment.
But as mentioned in other
But as mentioned in other Salem Halloween post-any protest in Salem should be welcome. Only fun gatherings not allowed. BLM world saving protest would be fiiiiine.
i'm going home
Your RPG sucks and there are way too many ingame purchases.
Once again...
Salem Protests:
Short duration
Social distancing
Mask use
Mainly locals
All outdoors
No increase in Covid-19 related to them
Salem Halloween:
Long Duration (all October)
Little social distancing
People from out of state that haven't quarantined
People crazy enough to come to a crowded place when they've been warned it's dangerous
The example of places like Sturgis, SD
Lots of small, tight indoor spaces
OK, the tourists have been pretty good about masks. But Salem has already been in the red zone once. I'm seeing more and more out of state plates, many from places where they still believe that Covid-19 is a Democrat hoax. The worry is not just about an increase in Covid-19 in Salem, but about the places to which the tourists will return.
I worry that despite all warnings, Salem will be the biggest national super-spreader yet,due to Halloween. But go ahead and whine about the protests.
