Leader of Boston-area Nazi group arrested while sturming away from protest; police had to escort parents and little kids out of story hour at Loring Greenough

Our local band of Nazis stood outside the Monument in Jamaica Pond this morning screaming about pedos during a drag-queen story hour at the Loring Greenough House on South Street, despite the group's own problems with pedophilia.

Police from District E-13 in Jamaica Plain, with reinforcements from other BPD districts, had to protect parents and young children as they came out of Loring Greenough in the face of Nazis yelling "monster!" at them while holding a large sign reading "Pedo scum off our streets!" in a neighborhood none of them actually live in.

Their throat clearing done, the white tough guys, most wearing masks, marched down Centre to Greenough Avenue, then came back up Harris Avenue to Centre Street, where most got into cars that drove off towards Hyde Square.

Nazi leader Chris Hood, however, did not join his fellow storm troopers, because the prime examplar of white supremacy got arrested at Centre and Greenough, after engaging in a shoving match with counter-protesters. Two counter-protesters were arrested as well.

Statement by Loring Greenough House:

On Saturday, July 23rd, the Loring Greenough House hosted the Drag Queen Story Time. Parents and children were entertained with singing and book reading. All enjoyed the event.

Unfortunately, a group of masked neo-Nazis gathered just outside our fence to chant malicious and homophobic rhetoric. The protest of a Drag Queen event was a tool to gain attention. Any concern for the well-being of children was absent.

The Loring Greenough House deeply appreciates our community who gathered across the street to support each other. It was uplifting to see Jamaica Plain demonstrate that we will not be bystanders in the face of bigotry. We also wish to express our gratitude to the District 13 Police force who were on hand to keep The Loring Greenough House's guests safe.

As a part of our mission, the Loring Greenough House strives to foster civic and community spirit. On this day and every day, we do so by standing with our community against hatred and injustice. We continue to welcome respectful community members to our premises.

Never thought I would read that headline but then again I never thought I would read a headline that read Woman escapes orange line fire by diving off bridge into the Mystic river.
Tomorrow's headline will be Troopers kick troubled teens off Carson Beach followed by angry kids kick out red line train windows. Monday's headline will be MBTA announces that because of a window shortage all red line service is canceled.

Does anyone else find it odd that Rod Webber always seems to be where these groups are waiting to confront them? BPD claims they have no knowledge yet Rod does?

Get these pieces of garbage out of JP and out of Boston

Must be so embarrassing for republican leaders when nazis take their “groomer” rhetoric literally like this. Ah, who am I kidding, they love it.

This is the point at which straight folks are either going to stand with LGBTQ people against this bullshit, and to do some learning, and start to understand the entire rancid history of anti-gay moral panics, and listen to LGBTQ people about how this should be dealt with...or they'll run scared and try to avoid getting any tar on themselves from that tarbrush.

I guess we'll find out which it will be. My money's on the latter.

I stood on the correct side in in the previous thread and I say that only to show other straight commenters here, even the ones I often disagree with, that it is so. frickin. easy. to not carry water for trans/homophobia and anti-LGBTQ bigotry. It’s so easy and it costs you nothing.

Yes, I’m a total slacktivist and keyboard warrior, but I will embrace those labels over being a water carrier for right wing bigots any day.

Join me. The water is just fine. Remember, you never need to give bigots and Nazis the benefit of the doubt.
