Citizen complaint of the day: Nearly going ass over teakettle in East Boston

A rattled citizen files a 311 complaint - and a confession - about the situation outside the Umana Academy at Eutaw and Border streets in East Boston:

Is there any way to smooth out the cracks in the plaza in front of the Umana? Just saw a kid almost go ass-over-teakettle when they tripped on the cracks on their scooter. (It was definitely a kid and not me. Ok, it was me, but the point still stands! It’s dangerous for the kids AND for old people riding their kids’ scooters!) Thanks, you guys are the best!

Serious issue. But a fun post.

I learned a new expression.

An adult riding a child’s scooter?

Someone complaining about an adult riding a child's scooter!

The reply guy making a comment about it.

.

High maintenance cringing UHubers.

who never got their driver’s license but gets kudos for not relying on government subsidized transportation or others to traverse the City.

Because scooters are fun as hell.

I thought I was the only person that used that phrase. Must be a Mass thing.

My father used it all the time.

I am seeing a variety of origin stories, many citing England spreading to Canada and the US.

This one, on the other hand, raises a legitimate issue- sidewalk falling apart- in an entertaining manner. Well done.
