MassDOT reports that the drawbridge, which connects both sides of Morrissey Boulevard, was reopened to traffic at 5:45 a.m.
Crews were actually able to lower the bridge, which got stuck in the upright position around 6 p.m. yesterday, at midnight, but then had to make repairs to the "heel plates/joint areas" before it drivers could rumble across it again.
MassDOT is considering building a replacement for the bridge, which has a habit of getting stuck like that.
