New apartments approved for Brighton Center

Rendering of Dighton Street building

Rendering by McKay Architects.

The Zoning Board of Appeal yesterday approved a four-story, 44-unit apartment building at 25-37 Dighton St., across from the Winship School, in Brighton Center.

Under the proposal by DND Homes of Burlington, seven of the units would be rented as affordable.

The plans include 28 parking spaces.

City Councilor Liz Breadon and the Brighton-Allston Improvement Association supported the proposal.

The proposal needed zoning-board approval because, among other things, the building was taller and larger than otherwise allowed by the site's zoning and did not have the minimum amount of open space needed.
