Newton becomes bearable

Bear in Newton

There's a bear wandering around Cold Spring Park in Newton this morning.

Mayor Ruthanne Fuller advises: "Please do not approach the bear," no, not even with a pic-a-nic basket.

Lawn bear.

One of the bears has seemed to have had a really good time yesterday and is staggering around trying to find its way home.

I'm sick of these bear attacks. It's like a frickin' country bear jambaroo around here!

It’s the smallest tax increase in history.

We've had deer at the Dorchester/Mattapan line in the past. I wonder how long until we have a bear sighting?

I vividly remember a UHub story (that I can't find), circa 2008 (+/- 2 years), where a deer tried to jump a fence near Fields Corner and impaled itself.

I wonder what the farthest into Boston's urban core that deers have been sighted.

It seems unlikely to be the same bear. It would have had to cross Comm Ave, I-90, Rt 16, the Charles, Rt 20, and Rt 2!
