Lowlifes steal high fashion in Newbury Street break-in, police say

Guys stealing stuff in Valentin

Surveillance images via BPD. See it larger.

Boston Police report two guys broke into Valentino, 47 Newbury St., and took a number of items that do not seem like they would pair well with their own wardrobes.

Police say the two broke into the store around 3:25 a.m. and took roughly $30,000 worth of merchandise from the store, which sells Italian clothing, shoes and handbags. They smashed their way into the store with bricks.

What is happening with the Boston Police force these days , if this happened in the 1970’s or 1980’s it would be solved in a day or two, armed robbery / property theft , these types of crimes were serious back in the day, today it’s a walk in the park.

When Boston's murder rate was roughly FOUR TIMES what it is today, Whitey Bulger and La Cosa Nostra ran rampant, high-school football players had to worry about getting shot in the neck by a sniper, Harvard students had to worry about getting murdered in the Combat Zone and Charles Stuart help lead to streets of fear in Black neighborhoods.

But other than that, yeah, was a great time.

Muggings commonplace. Burglary too. More murders. Rapes not even reported. Let’s not even talk about arson for profit.

No DNA then. Cases went cold fast and stayed cold.

Cops did direct traffic though and ticket scofflaws. The Boot was in force.

If this happened in the 1970s it would take the cops 2 days to sober up and read the file.

That open mouthed gape is definitely not reminiscent of the zombies in Dawn of the Dead.

Now that there is a classy man. You can tell by the filthy facemask so fetchingly worn under his chin, where it will do the most good.

If Magoo was a superhero and was nearby when this happened, Magoo would “Shazam!” and smite these evil doers down with Magoo-zam power. Magoo-zam power is the same powers as Shazam, but when Magoo is wielding said Magoo-zam (i.e. Shazam) powers. Magoo.

Every time I walk by Valentino, Chanel, Burberry, and other high end designer shops, I never see anyone in there except poorly paid security and staff trying to sell stuff assembled by factory workers in poor countries.

I suspect those stores are money losers but serve as great advertising for the brand, who doesn't want to claim 5th Ave, Rodeo Drive and Newbury Street as their turf. Its the same reason banks are in great locations but no one is inside, its rent cheaper than a billboard.

They look like members of "The Over The Hill" gang.
